101 Scoring
In 101, every point counts. Penalty points add up, reward points subtract. After 11 rounds, the player with the lowest score wins.
How It Works
Every player starts with 0 points. Penalty points are positive numbers and bad for you. Reward points are negative numbers and good for you. The game lasts 11 rounds, and the player with the lowest score at the end wins.
Rewards
Opening with 150 or more points, or with 7 or more pairs, earns a 101-point reward (subtracted from the player's score). This is sometimes called "siler almak."
Finishing normally after opening and committing all remaining tiles earns 101 reward points.
Finishing before anyone else opens earns 202 reward points. If the last tile discarded is an okey, that becomes 404 reward points.
Finishing via doubles earns 202 reward points. Finishing with doubles and using an okey earns 404 reward points.
When a Player Finishes
Players who did not open receive 202 penalty points.
Players who opened receive penalty points equal to the total value of their remaining tiles.
Players going for doubles receive double the total value of their remaining tiles as penalty.
If the finishing player discards an okey as their last tile, or finishes with doubles, all other players receive 404 penalty points instead.
If finishing with doubles and using an okey, all other players receive 808 penalty points.
Direct Finish Bonus
If nobody has opened and a player opens fully and finishes immediately, all other players receive 404 penalty points.
If the last tile played in a direct finish is an okey, all other players receive 808 penalty points.
Empty Round
If nobody opens during a round, no penalties or rewards are given. The round simply ends and the next one begins.
